The feeling of the orchestra piano section composed in rich textures. Did you know the piano is both a string instrument as well as a percussion instrument in the orchestra? The symphony series is composed of “Brass”, “Piano”, “Woodwinds”, Strings” “Harp and “Percussion”. Textile art warming and softening the environment of the living space. Each stitch quilted by hand through all layers -starting with 3 and often more to 10. Notes you can feel. Piano is a large heavy piece and is equipped with a wood slat for hanging. Rich beautiful modern art quilt composed of wonderful repurposed upholstery fabrics sustainably sourced from furniture makers in deep natural tones and elegant warm textures hand quilted in various yarns. You can feel the emotional charge that only art quilts bring. The colors within this piece are earth tones in pale whites with some fabrics remaining translucent to reveal shapes in another value underneath signifying the companion sections playing alongside piano in the orchestra. This original piece boasts a uniquely mid century modern vibe. Piano is thick and substantial bringing a comforting gentle warmth to the space. Hand pieced and hand quilted one stitch at a time utilizing a large steel darning needle in cotton yarn through 3-10 layers of textile. This is one of a kind art and returns are not accepted. As in all of my pieces there is only one Piano and the art will not be reproduced. This piece is signed by the artists stitched signature on the front corner before it is acquired and shipped, a sleeve on the reverse indicates the name of the piece and signature of the artist. The reverse includes a hanging sleeve handsewn to accommodate a wood slat included.

The art will arrive wrapped in plastic for protection, shipped gently folded or rolled. If shipped within the continental US piece may arrive rolled and may included a wood slat.
