“Big Love” is returning from display at the famed 2025 Art in Hospitals exhibit.
“Big Love” was created for the Sacred Threads group show at UChicago Hospitals, Chicago IL. The Art in Hospitals is a project that brings original handmade art to medical care facility halls, waiting rooms and atriums to provide healing benefits to the visitors, patients and staff.
“Big Love” is 63” x 85” and can be displayed vertically or horizontally for the space as it comes equipped with two sleeves sewn on the reverse.
Quilted a single stitch at a time using several unusual fibers wool, alpaca, recycled water bottles, cotton and twine. Stitches are both tightly pulled and loose depending on the particular design area. The art is stitched by hand using yarn through 3-8 layers of textile this is the artists own design to add soft whisper. As in all of her pieces there is only one "Big Love" and the art cannot and will not be reproduced. This piece is signed in stitch on the front and is signed on the reverse in permanent ink. The reverse also includes hanging sleeves handsewn to accommodate one wood dowel included. This is a one of a kind piece and returns are not accepted.
The art will arrive wrapped in plastic for protection, shipped rolled including a strong wooden slat for easy hanging.
