Rich beautiful modern art quilt composed of wonderful repurposed upholstery fabrics sustainably sourced from furniture makers in deep natural tones and elegant warm textures hand quilted in unique wool yarn. You can feel the emotional charge that only art quilts bring. The name of this piece came from the gorgeous fluffy peonies outside my studio window and they are represented here in shimmering satiny silks and satins in colors of gold, hues of pinks proud above the natural linen tones. Upon the piece are deep red vases that stand alone the peonies are not cut they are alive and growing in the piece. The colors within this piece are earth tones with bits of pink, lilac and beautiful golds. This piece is thick and substantial bringing a comforting warmth to the space. Hand pieced and hand quilted a single stitch at a time utilizing a large steel darning needle with a kawandi technique in wool yarn through 3-8 layers of textile. This is one of a kind art and returns are not accepted. As in all of my pieces there is only one "Peony" and the art cannot and will not be reproduced. This piece is signed by the artists stitched signature on the front corner, a label on the reverse indicates the name of the piece, artist and date in permanent ink. The reverse includes a hanging sleeve handsewn to accommodate a wood slat.
The art will arrive wrapped in plastic for protection, shipped gently folded or rolled. If shipped within the continental US piece may arrive rolled and may included a wood dowel.
