Back from Elmhurst Art Museum Exhibition and available for purchase after July 10 2025, rich beautiful modern art quilt tapestry composed of wonderful silks and repurposed embroidered upholstery fabrics in deep eggplant and elegant hues of gold and warm pumpkin hand quilted in unique fibers and thick soft colorful yarns. You can feel the emotional charge that only art quilts bring. In this video the art is displayed in the morning sunshine. The 1983 David Bowie Song "Lets Dance" is the inspiration for all this color and wonderful texture! This piece is heavy, thick and substantial bringing a comforting warmth to the space. Quilted a single stitch at a time using several unusual fibers wool, alpaca, recycled water bottles, linen, silk, cotton, polished twine and luminous locks from Cotswold sheep may appear tightly pulled or loose depending on the design, also some fibers may unravel as pulled by hand through 3-8 layers of textile this is the artists intention to add soft whisper and does not effect the structural integrity of the piece. This is a one of a kind piece and returns are not accepted. As in all of her pieces there is only one "Lets Dance" and the art cannot and will not be reproduced. This piece is signed by the artists stitched signature on the front right bottom corner in embroidery floss, signed and dated on the reverse in permanent ink. The reverse includes a hanging sleeve handsewn to accommodate the wood dowel included.
The art will arrive wrapped in plastic for protection, shipped rolled including a wooden dowel for easy hanging.
